DGPtv Preps for Dramatic USDGC Broadcast

Disc golf has certainly had it’s legendary players: Climo, Schultz, Doss, Korver, Reading, and Jenkins.

Yet, when the 2013 United States Disc Golf Championship kicks off this October 2nd, none of these players have ever ventured into the territory that Paul McBeth is navigating this season: to win all four PDGA majors in one season and capture a mythical Grand Slam of Disc Golf.

Some will tell you that the PDGA did not have such tiered designations of events until the recent past, so that it was impossible for many of our historically dominant players to gain such a distinction.  However, there has never been as much parity in disc golf as we have today either, which has made the season that McBeth is putting together truly remarkable.

This mythical Grand Slam is just one of the potent storylines behind this 2013 edition of the USDGC.  Will Schusterick will be attempting a three-peat with titles from both the 2010 and 2012 (the last two USDGC’s with an Open Division) on his mantle.  And given that McBeth has not played his best golf on the Winthrop Gold layout, there is plenty of intrigue to go around.  Will David Feldberg or Nate Doss (two past USDGC Champs) ride the rising tide of their outstanding 2013 campaigns to another championship in Rock Hill?  Will Nikko Locastro harness his great abilities and channel them in a positive direction to regain his earlier form from a few years back?  Or will a player flying below the radar, like a Ricky Wysocki or Cameron Colglazier or even Barry Schultz, capture lightning a bottle to win this year’s 2013 USDGC?

DiscGolfPlanet.tv is prepared to bring it all to you during our four days and 16+ hours of Livestreaming from the stunning Winthrop Gold Course at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  To stay abreast of our broadcast schedule and times, continue to visit this site or our Facebook for more information.
